Salty, but in cotton-candy colors! This needlepoint canvas is in the style of mid-century artist Robert Indiana, whose iconic 'LOVE' design of the late 1960s has been replicated in countless variations. I first stitched this as a commission several years ago--I enlarged the design of a vintage pillow produced by Woolworks, a needlepoint shop in New York (and I reproduce it here with the owner's permission).
This canvas is stitch painted on Zweigart 100% cotton mono deluxe canvas.
- Design size: 12.8 x 12.8 inches

I stitched this pillow years ago and used all vintage Persian wool: Paternayan 693 (green), 963 (pink), 332 (purple); Paterna 312 (dark blue, probably an old discontinued color); Bucilla 137 (light blue); and a mystery yellow with no tags (Bucilla, I think?).
Here are some suggested threads:
Appletons tapestry wool: 102 (purple), 996 (yellow), 462 (blue), 673 (pink), 253 (green), 823 (dark blue)
Silk & Ivory: 242 lavender, 166 scrambled eggs, 198 ahoy!, 72 cotton candy, 94 margarita, 70 delphinium
DMC Pearl Cotton #3: 210 (purple), 3078 (yellow), 800 (blue), 604 (pink), 704 or 907 (green), 825 (dark blue)
