Based on 'Holbein' carpets made in West Anatolia in the 16th century, this purse uses motifs and colors that emulate the richness of these early textiles. I updated this version of this timeless pattern into bright blues and greens!
These canvases (body and flap) are hand painted on 100% cotton Zweigart mono deluxe canvas.
Canvas 1
- Design size: 8.25 x 11.5 inches
- Canvas size: 13 x 16 inches
- Mesh size: 13
Canvas 2 (flap)
- Design size: 9 x 10 inches
- Canvas size: 14 x 14 inches
- Mesh size: 13
My purse was finished by Pinnell Custom Leather in Crozet, Virginia. The size of these canvases *already includes any extra rows* needed for the leather finish done here. You'll see that the pattern breaks in some spots at the outer edges--this is to make your stitching easier and more stable in areas that will be covered in the finishing process. The open space in the pattern in the chain link section of the flap is to include your initials—see detail image.
