Based on Holbein carpets of the 16th century, this picture frame utilizes the strapwork motifs seen on these early textiles.  Instead of the warm, natural colors of the original carpets, I switched this version to bright blues and greens!

The frame can be turned in either direction, or a monogram or name could be stitched in the center.  

This canvas is hand painted on 100% cotton Zweigart mono deluxe canvas.
