This is a stitch guide for the Tufted Stripe clutch canvases. The downloadable document includes a list of the threads I used in my finished samples, a breakdown of the colors and stitches I used in the pattern, and diagrams of the stitches. This guide includes the breakdown for both colors of the clutch.
Please note that I don't give a line-by-line breakdown for the stitches, but the stitches I used in each section. Sometimes I used as many as three stitches in a section! You might want more modest Turkey work, so you would use fewer rows, and more of the neighboring stitch. You are in charge!
Overall, these are beginner-level decorative stitches--I am pretty devoted to basketweave, so this was my way to learn! The stitches themselves are not complicated and there is no compensation needed.
There are a LOT of threads used in these clutches. I used a lot of wool in these bags, including Appletons and Waverly, along with DMC pearl cotton, Silk & Ivory and others). You can substitute anything you like! Similarly, if you like a stitch, you can use it in more than one area, or add in a stitch you like better. This is an easy way to be creative and try things out.
